Social Faux Pas

To begin with, I'm going to jot down something else my baby brother wrote the other day, the title of his so called paper was "Changes in Time" and he was comparing and contrasting himself with my mother and grandmother. It goes something like this:

Mother: She eats modern food, I eat modern food. She has a car, I have a car. She has children, I am a child. She is from (family name), I am from (family name).

(So far, so good right? Read along :P)

Grandmother: She eats with her hand, I eat with my spoon. She's brown, I'm white. I have a lot of friends, she doesn't have any. She walks slow, I walk fast.

So basically, these are the observations of an eight year old kid! :P He seems so superior to her! I couldn't stop laughing at the "she's brown" part, racist much? And he's not so white himself :P I can't wait till he grows up and realizes he aint no "white" boy, will he be surprised.

Moving along, I was discussing briefly to a fellow friend the importance of saying NO, It's a two letter word that does wonders! Seriously, it can save you from a lot of unwanted grief and stress :P

For example, if you're stuck in a situation where you need to help someone out and you either can't or don't want to, you don't have to feel pressured to do so. No one is going to get you out of that situation except yourself.
So save yourself the trouble and just say "I may not have a lot of stuff to do but I do, so I can't help you out. Maybe next year though!" ...
OR if you're so tired that day and can't handle anything simply state "I'm really tired to make an excuse right now so basically I can't help you out!" ...
OR if you're taking the comedic way out and say sarcastically "Yeah, I would LOVE to help you out, is it that obvious that I don't have a life?" and laugh at yourself and change the subject :P ...
OR you can play the victim role and use reverse psychology by saying "OH MY GOD! All that? What have I done to you to deserve this! You seriously wouldn't do that to me would you?"

If all fails, you can use the most effective and efficient way out. For example:

Them:"Hey, can you help me out?"
You: "No..."
Them: (Shocked)
You: "Lovely weather today don't you think?"

And as for moi, I have a manure-load of work to do and I'm not even close to finishing! So hopefully, while drinking my latte that I'm obsessed over these days, I'll get to finish some of the stuff.... hopefully!
